What we do

At Arena Physica, we're building electromagnetic superintelligence. Our AI platform Atlas operationalizes physics-grounded intelligence to verify, debug, and optimize hardware across its lifecycle. Atlas is already trusted globally by the world's most advanced hardware companies, including AMD, Anduril, and Bausch & Lomb, for applications across R&D, integration testing, production assembly, and field repair.

About the role

Explaining hard technical ideas is becoming a lost art. This fellowship supports the next generation of researchers and science writers with access to funding, frontier ideas, and the dynamic inner workings of a AI startup.

You will embed with our Research and Agent teams to dig into topics across the EM spectrum, build beautiful interactive visuals, and author deep dives that make these complex topics understandable. Everything you write will be published under your own byline on Arena Physica's blog. You will leave this fellowship with a portfolio of technical explanatory writing.

How you will contribute

• Deep dives developed in partnership with the Research team for technical accuracy and an editor for craft
• Crafting interactive web visualization, built into an explainer or standing alone
• Shorter pieces or video storyboards including concept primers, researcher Q&As, glossary entries, or annotated diagrams
• Weekly or regular presence at our office to embed with and shadow the team for topic inspiration

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in science writing, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Math, or adjacent fields (exceptional undergraduates and recent graduates with published clips will be considered)
• Experience with creating interactive visualization
• Experience with science writing, including previous publications
• Comfortable working independently on deliverables
• Ability to dedicate at least 15 hours a week and be in-person once a week in our New York City office for the duration of your term

This position offers a stipend of $2,400 per month. Stipend amounts may vary depending on program length and location.
