Data Center Supply Chain Execution Leader
Armada
About the Company
Armada is an edge computing startup that provides computing infrastructure to remote areas where connectivity and cloud infrastructure is limited, as well as areas where data needs to be processed locally for real-time analytics and AI at the edge. We’re looking to bring on the most brilliant minds to help further our mission of bridging the digital divide with advanced technology infrastructure that can be rapidly deployed anywhere.
We are seeking a hands-on, execution-driven Data Center Supply Chain Leader to own and scale the end-to-end supply chain required to deliver global data center infrastructure. This leader will be accountable for translating business demand into actionable execution plans, navigating long-lead and constrained components, driving cost and availability improvements, and orchestrating cross-functional alignment across Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Operations.
This role requires deep experience managing complex, global supply chains, negotiating with OEMs and strategic suppliers, and operating with an ownership mentality in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and constantly evolving environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and will proactively identify and mitigate risk before it impacts delivery.
Location: This role is office-based at our Bellevue, Washington office.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Supply Chain Strategy & Execution
- Own the end-to-end execution of the data center supply chain, from demand planning through procurement, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, and delivery.
- Build and maintain integrated execution plans that align capacity, inventory, lead times, and capital with delivery schedules.
- Navigate and manage long-lead items (e.g., power equipment, racks, servers, networking, cooling, switchgear, transformers) to ensure schedule adherence.
- Establish and continuously refine supply chain operating rhythms, KPIs, and escalation mechanisms.
Vendor & OEM Management
- Lead strategic supplier relationships across multiple categories and geographies.
- Conduct and lead complex commercial negotiations with OEMs, contract manufacturers, logistics providers, and component suppliers.
- Drive cost-down initiatives, including pricing optimization, should-cost modeling, alternate sourcing, and volume leverage.
- Develop and execute multi-supplier and risk-mitigation strategies to reduce dependency and increase resiliency.
Inventory & Materials Management
- Own global inventory strategy, balancing working capital efficiency with availability and risk.
- Define stocking strategies for critical components, buffers, and spares.
- Drive inventory accuracy, visibility, and governance across regions and supply chains.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Pull together and align Legal, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Program Management around an executable supply chain plan.
- Partner with Legal on contract structures, risk mitigation, and supplier terms.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and capital efficiency.
- Work closely with technical teams to translate specifications into manufacturable, scalable supply chain solutions.
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Proactively identify supply chain risks (capacity, geopolitical, logistics, quality, financial) and develop mitigation plans.
- Lead rapid response to disruptions with a bias for action and clear decision-making.
- Navigate ambiguity and constant change while maintaining delivery commitments.
Leadership & Culture
- Bring an ownership mindset—treating the supply chain as a business, not a function.
- Influence across many personalities, cultures, and organizational styles without relying solely on authority.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing global supply chain team as the company scales.
- Set a high bar for accountability, transparency, and execution excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or procurement, with significant responsibility for execution.
- Demonstrated experience supporting data center or hyperscale infrastructure, hardware, industrial, or complex technical supply chains.
- Deep experience in:
- Global sourcing and supplier management
- Inventory planning and working capital optimization
- Long-lead and constrained component management
- Complex contract and commercial negotiations
- Proven track record of driving cost reductions while improving delivery reliability.
- Experience working across multiple, interdependent supply chains simultaneously.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data center or hyperscale builds or large-scale infrastructure programs.
- Familiarity with OEMs such as Dell, Supermicro, HPE, networking vendors, and critical power/cooling suppliers, and modular data center manufacturers.
- Experience managing supply chains across North America, EMEA, and APAC (LATAM is a bonus).
- Background in manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or engineering-driven supply environments.
- MBA or advanced degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering is ideal.
Leadership Competencies
- Ownership Mentality: Acts like an owner; accountable for outcomes, not just inputs.
- Execution Excellence: Turns strategy into action and delivers results consistently.
- Negotiation & Influence: Comfortable in high-stakes negotiations and complex stakeholder environments.
- Adaptability: Thrives in ambiguity and rapid change.
- Relationship Builder: Navigates diverse personalities and cultures effectively.
- Global Mindset: Understands regional differences and global supply chain dynamics.
