About Us

Autonomous Cyber builds AI for end-to-end cyber. We’re building hacking systems from the ground up. Not just calling models, but controlling how agents think, coordinate, use tools, manage context, and work through complex, high-impact problems over long runs. It’s a small team, high ownership, lots of building and rebuilding, and a lot of fun if you’re excited to probe the limits of what LLMs can do.
We know AI is reshaping the 5th domain. Our mission is to ensure that US and allies survive and thrive in the coming era of agentic cyber competition.
We do real offense, and we move fast. If you want to deploy cutting-edge systems, go deep in user environments, and help shape the product, you should drop us a note.

The Role

Autonomous Cyber is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to serve as the tip of the spear for delivering our AI cyber platform to mission users.
You’ll report directly to the COO and be on the front lines of deploying cutting-edge technology to government customers. This is a customer-facing, high-impact role where technical expertise meets mission. You’ll act as the “field CTO” to our users: advising, integrating, troubleshooting, and shaping the future of our product in real-time based on live operations.
We’re a fast-moving team of engineers, cyber operators, and national security professionals building tools that push the boundaries of what AI can do in the 5th domain. As part of our FDE team, you’ll help us scale that capability to the field.

What You’ll Do

Deploy and support Autonomous Cyber’s flagship platform with U.S. government customers
Partner closely with the COO during customer meetings, demos, and deployments
Serve as the technical point of contact (“field CTO”) for forward users
Capture user feedback and operational pain points to guide product evolution
Design and implement custom solutions that address user-specific needs
Troubleshoot and resolve real-world deployment issues in varied environments
Work across product, engineering, and leadership to shape go-to-market and support strategies

What We’re Looking For

4+ years of experience in either USCC, DoD Cyber, or IC environments
Deep technical fluency in software development or systems engineering, with the ability to troubleshoot in live operational environments
Strong communication skills and experience interfacing directly with users or customers
Ability to quickly understand user workflows and design end-to-end solutions that improve them
Familiarity with offensive security tooling or infrastructure
Experience deploying or supporting software in government, DoD, or secure environments preferred
Familiarity with AI tools is a plus
Comfortable traveling regularly to customer sites across the U.S. (and potentially abroad)
Active or eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government TS Clearance (US citizenship required)
You’ll deploy cutting-edge cyber capabilities, solve mission problems in the field, and shape the future of Autonomous Cyber.
If that sounds interesting, let’s talk.
