About Starfish Space
Starfish Space provides satellite servicing missions with its Otter servicing vehicle, including life extension missions for geostationary satellites and disposal missions for low Earth orbit satellites. Founded in 2019, Starfish has raised over $150M in venture capital funding and built a team of engineers with experience spanning satellite guidance, navigation, control, and autonomous robotics. Starfish has launched several missions to-date, and is focused on delivering Otter satellite servicing missions for SES, the U.S. Space Force, the Space Development Agency, NASA, and others.
Position Description
Starfish Space is building Otter satellite servicing vehicles: advanced autonomous satellites capable of docking with and providing services to other satellites in orbit. We are looking for a VP of Supply Chain to oversee the end-to-end supply chain required to deliver Otter satellites on schedule, within budget, and to the quality required for flight.
This role is responsible for managing strategic supplier relationships, identifying & mitigating supply chain risks, and driving execution across internal teams and external partners to support successful spacecraft assembly, integration, testing and delivery for launch.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Starfish supply chain across Otter programs
- Identify, communicate, and drive resolution of supply chain risks related to schedule, cost, and quality
- Own supplier quality management and continuous improvement efforts
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key suppliers
- Partner with teams across Starfish to ensure successful hardware delivery
Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Willing to work from Tukwila, Washington
- College degree or equivalent experience in engineering, supply chain, operations, or a related field
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- 5+ years of relevant experience managing complex hardware supply chains
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with hardware manufacturing environments
- Experience working with and managing critical vendors
- Familiarity with tools and systems to manage supply chains
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
